Big News for Felton Fire

The Felton Fire Protection District is excited to announce a new contract between the Felton Fire District and the Ben Lomond Fire District for the position of Fire Chief and Training Chief. 

This new contract will provide Felton Fire with a consistent Fire Chief along with the support structure needed to affect future change at Felton Fire.

Fire Chief Stacie Brownlee and Training Chief Mike Ayers will be working hard on Felton Fire’s behalf. Each has over 40 years’ experience in the fire service, and they are staples of the fire service within the San Lorenzo Valley.

This contract for services will be in place for the next two years and it will allow the Felton Fire District to increase its number of firefighters along with its response capabilities all while reducing operating costs for the district and providing savings to the public.

A few things to note under this contract.

1. In the event you need Felton Fire to respond to an incident you may notice that at times the firefighters may come from Felton, Ben Lomond or Zayante. This is because we at Felton Fire want the fastest response to our public and if at times another fire engine is closer then they will respond and provide the service on Felton’s behalf.
2. Training, if you see Ben Lomond firefighters or fire engines around Felton during daytime hours, know that they are most likely training, and that Felton and Ben Lomond firefighters are regularly training together in an effort to keep both communities safer, and this contract also provides for a larger pool of respondable firefighters to both districts.
3. Lastly, know that both fire districts rely heavily on community support for firefighters and funding.
